§         American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) - A professional medical organization devoted to the field of clinical endocrinology. Members are physicians with special education, training and interest in the practice of clinical endocrinology. Click on the "Services" button for excellent endocrinology links in a section entitled "Other Resources."

§         Biomedical Databases - The Biomedical Databases Web site includes an Endocrinology database - containing information on hormone levels in humans and animals, are maintained by Amando G. Amador of the Illinois State Academy of Science.

§         CliniWeb Endocrine Diseases page - CliniWeb, a project at Oregon Health Sciences University, is an index and table of contents to over 2,500 Web sites of clinical information. Keyword search or browse through the MeSH hierarchy. CliniWeb is well researched and current. An Endocrine System page is also available.

§         Endocrinology.com - A well organized site with plenty of information on a variety of endocrinology subtopics.

§         Galaxy Medicine Index page - This is a free multi-disciplinary web directory funded through banner advertising and sponsorships. It is one of the oldest browsable/searchable web directories on the Internet. Extensive listings are comprehensive but are NOT reviewed for quality. Click on "Endocrine Diseases" or "Endocrine Surgery" for links to many endocrine Web sites.

§         healthfinder™ - Maintains a robust list of consumer health information web sites, selected online publications, databases, self-help groups, as well as the government agencies and non-profit organizations. Search for the specific topic in the A-Z topics list or type keywords in the search dialog box.

§         HealthWeb Endocrinology page - This resource is a collaborative effort between the Library of the Health Sciences at the University of Illinois - Chicago and the "Big Ten" universities Committee on Institutional Cooperation. "HealthWeb provides links to specific, evaluated information resources... selected by librarians... at leading academic medical centers in the Midwest." Working together within their “areas of excellence,” they have chosen and critically evaluated a small group of non-commercial resources, rather than providing an exhaustive index.

§         Medical Matrix - Medical Matrix is a comprehensive, clinically oriented database designed to be a "home page" for physicians. Sites are authoritative, peer reviewed, annotated, frequently updated and ranked according to a 5-star rating system. Medical Matrix is authored by Gary Malet, a family physician and Lee Hancock, an educational technologist. The Editorial Board members are drawn from the American Medical Informatics Association's Internet Working Group. First-time use may require registration passwords. Select the topic from menus or perform a subject search.

§         MEDLINEplus: Endocrine System (Hormones) Topics - The National Library of Medicine's MEDLINEplus pages provide a carefully selected list of resources, not a comprehensive catalog. They are designed to direct users to resources containing information that will help them research their health questions. The "Endocrinology" topic at MEDLINEplus includes separate pages on cirrhosis, growth disorders, liver diseases (general), and thyroid diseases.

§         MEDWEB @ EMORY UNIVERSITY - A very comprehensive page maintained at Emory University, this site offers a categorized list with links to hundreds of sites, as well as links to employment opportunities, medical equipment and products, societies and associations, and much more. Select "Browse by Keyword" and then click on the specific topic desired.

§         The Endocrine Society - With 8,500 members from 72 countries, The Endocrine Society is the world's largest and most active organization devoted to the research, study and clinical practice of endocrinology. The Endocrine Society Fact Sheets are most helpful.

§         WebMedLit Endocrinology Current Journal Articles - Presents topic categorized hyperlinked article titles recently posted to the Web. Includes articles with abstracts and full-text. Web Medical Literature Services provide access to some of the top medical journals. The site is sponsored by SilverPlatter Information, Inc. and the Physicians' Home Page.
