§         American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons - As well as representing its members, the Academy offers patient information, a library, suggestions for finding a surgeon, meeting information, outcomes assessment, and much more.

§         Ask NOAH About: Orthopedics - A cooperative project of the City University of New York, the Metropolitan New York Library Council, the New York Academy of Medicine and the New York Public Library, NOAH seeks to provide high quality full-text health information for consumers that is accurate, timely, relevant, and unbiased. NOAH currently supports English and Spanish.

§         CliniWeb - CliniWeb, a project at Oregon Health Sciences University, is an index and table of contents to over 2,500 Web sites of clinical information. Keyword search or browse through the MeSH hierarchy. CliniWeb is well researched and current. Search by Bone Diseases.

§         healthfinder™ - Maintains a robust list of consumer health information web sites, selected online publications, databases, self-help groups, as well as the government agencies and non-profit organizations. Search for the specific topic in the A-Z topics list or type keywords in the search dialog box.

§         MEDLINEplus: Bones, Joints and Muscle Topics - The National Library of Medicine's MEDLINEplus pages provide a carefully selected list of resources, not a comprehensive catalog. They are designed to direct users to resources containing information that will help them research their health questions. Orthopedic topics in MEDLINEplus include pages on ankylosing spondylitis, back injuries, back pain, foot/ankle injuries, hip injuries and disorders, knee injuries, elbow injuries, scoliosis, shoulder injuries and disorders.

§         NAON line - Created and maintained by the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses Association, this site “…promote[s] education and research related to nursing care of persons with orthopaedic conditions [and]…the highest standards of nursing practice, and …research; and [to] maintain effective communication between orthopaedic nurses and other external interested persons and groups.”

§         Orthogate - "The concept of the gateway is that from here in no more than three clicks you should be able to reach any of the resources on the Orthopaedic Internet which you would like." Offers links to Wheeless' Textbook, patient information, other orthopedic sites, quality criteria, a search engine, and much much more.
